It was a cold, windy, cloudy, October morning when May's Seniors took to the gridiron. Clinton won the toss and elected to receive, but ultimately had to punt from midfield moments later. Branford worked a 60 yard drive which culminated when Curtis Sutherland took a pitch and ran for a 19 yard TD around the left end. Chris Rice kicked the 2 point conversion through and Branford had an 8-0 lead. This was the first 2 point kick made by any May coached team over the last 5 years!

In the second, the Hornets put together another nice drive as Curtis Sutherland scored his second TD, this time around the right end. Rice's kick was blocked, making the score 14-0. With just over 2 minutes in the half, Clinton scored on a 50 yard half back option pass as the receiver was just too tall for his defender and the pass was thrown perfectly. The kick was stuffed, but the score was now 14-6. The Huskies took Branford by surprise when they recovered an onside kick, but Nick Linta stepped in front of a pass to pick it off -giving the Hornets time for one last drive. DJ Ryan rolled to his right and hit Chirs Rice down the right sideline, and Rice side stepped his defender and walked into the end zone for a 60 yard TD. Curtis Sutherland carried it in for the extra point, and it was now 21-6. After the kickoff, the Clinton QB poked through the middle and sprinted for 30 yards before Michael Whealen stripped him of the ball. Chris Rice recovered the fumble and Branford took a 21-6 lead into the half.

The Hornets took the 2nd half kickoff and took it back to their 40 yard line. On the first play, Justin Blood broke off a 55 yard run down to the 5 yard line. Alex Borkowski pounded a pair of runs to get the ball to the 1 before Blood took it in for the TD to make it 27-6. Clinton came right back with a nice drive, and ultimately scored on 20 yard QB keeper around the left side (despite the fact that he stepped out at the 1). The kick was stuffed and the score was now 27-12.

The Hornets took the next kick and were charged with a block in the back penalty which pushed them back. A 5 yard penalty on Clinton made it first and 5 from the 30, and Justin Blood took the handoff and zig zagged his way for a 70 yard TD! Chris Rice made his second 2 point kick of the day and Branford went on to win this one, 35-12.
